[Original form] Sheshan Elaeagnus, deciduous or evergreen shrub, 2-3m tall. With thorns. Young branches densely covered with yellowish white scales. Leaves grow in spring and autumn, simple leaves are alternate, of varying sizes, thin papery or membranous; large leaves are obovate or broadly elliptic, 6-10cm long, 3-5cm wide, leaflets are elliptic or oblong, 1-4cm long, 0.8-2cm wide, obtuse at the apex, cuneate or obtuse at the base, entire, with grayish-white scales on the upper side when young, glabrous and light green when mature, with white star-shaped soft hairs or scales on the lower side when young, which often fall off when mature and are covered with white scales. The flowers are light yellow, drooping, covered with silvery white and light yellow scales; 5-7 flowers are often clustered at the base of new branches in umbel racemes; the perianth tube is funnel-shaped and cylindrical, 5.5-6mm long, and 4-lobed at the upper part; there are 4 stamens, born at the throat of the perianth tube; the style is glabrous. The fruit is obovate-oblong, 13-15mm long and 6mm in diameter. It is covered with silvery-white scales when young and turns red when ripe. The flowering period is from January to March, and the fruiting period is from April to May.
