【Pharmacological action】 ① Antitussive and expectorant effect

[Properties and flavors] "Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine": "slightly bitter, warm, and toxic."

【Functions and indications】 Relieve cough and resolve phlegm, promote dampness and dredge meridians, harmonize the stomach, and eliminate accumulation. Treat chronic bronchitis, rheumatic pain, chronic gastritis, and indigestion in children.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 3 to 5 qian; or soaked in wine.

[Additional prescription] ① To treat rheumatic pain: soak 50 cents of Mimosa pudica root in wine and drink. (Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine)

[Clinical application] Treatment of chronic bronchitis: Use 2 liang (10 liang) of fresh Mimosa pudica root daily, add 600 ml of water, simmer until 100 ml, and take in 2 doses. A course of treatment is 10 days. 30 cases were observed. Among them, 11 cases were under control in the short term after one course of treatment, 11 cases showed marked effects, 4 cases improved, and 4 cases were ineffective. Among them, 18 cases were under control in the short term after one course of treatment, 10 cases showed marked effects, 1 case improved, and 1 case caught a cold. Among them, 24 cases were under control in the short term after three courses of treatment, 3 cases showed marked effects, and 3 cases caught a cold.
