National Bureau of Statistics: China's online retail sales reached 12,458.5 billion yuan from January to November 2022, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%

Statistics recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics show that from January to November, the national online retail sales amounted to 12,458.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2% .

Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods amounted to 10,809.8 billion yuan, up 6.4%, accounting for 27.1% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; among the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing, and daily necessities increased by 15.1%, 3.4%, and 6.1% respectively .

The total retail sales of consumer goods include online retail sales of physical goods, but exclude online retail sales of non-physical goods . Among them, online retail sales refer to the sum of retail sales of goods and services realized through public network trading platforms (including self-built websites and third-party platforms). Goods and services include physical goods and non-physical goods (such as virtual goods, service goods, etc.).

Overall, in November, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 3861.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9% . Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 3482.8 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.1 %. From January to November, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 39919 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1% . Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 35849 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.2% .
