[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Dryopteris hornbeam plant of the Dryopteris family.

【Original morphology】 Plant height 30-40cm. The rhizome is short and obliquely ascending, with sparsely ovate-lanceolate small scales at the base of the petiole. Leaves are clustered; petioles are 10-15cm long, straw-colored, with broad and dense scales upward and on the rachis; leaf blades are papery, lanceolate or broadly lanceolate, 15-25cm long, 4-7cm wide in the middle, narrowing toward the base, nearly smooth or occasionally with small scales beneath, three to four times pinnate-lobed; lobes are short and broad, angular; each lobe has only 4 small veins. The sori are homomorphic, borne dorsally on the top of the veinlets; the sori lid is large, peltate, and caducous early.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on wet rocks or tree trunks beside streams at an altitude of 800-1500m.

【Functions and indications】Disperse blood stasis and reduce swelling; stop bleeding. Main trauma swelling and pain; bleeding

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 5-10g. For external use: take appropriate amount, mash and apply or grind into powder for application.
