Several flowers are arranged in flat umbels; sepals are ovate with glands on the outside; corolla is dark red and double; there are many stamens; there are many pistils, the styles are glabrous, combined into a column, extending out, and often the same length as the stamens. The fruit is spherical. Flowering period is from May to July.
