[Original form] Deciduous shrub, up to 2.5 meters high. Young branches densely covered with white short hairs. 3-leaf compound leaves, alternate; apical leaflets are rectangular or elliptical, 3-6.5 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, with rounded or slightly concave apex, short tip, rounded base, glabrous above, with obvious reticulate veins, and light yellow pubescent beneath; lateral leaflets are smaller, and stipules are lanceolate. Inflorescence is racemose or paniculate, terminal and axillary; flowers are butterfly-shaped, purple; calyx is broadly bell-shaped, with 4 calyx teeth and sparse soft hairs; 10 stamens, 2 in number. The pods are obliquely elliptical, membranous, about 1 cm long, and reticulate. Flowering period is from April to August. Fruiting period is September.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on hillsides, ravines, grass slopes, forest edges or sparse woods. Distributed in Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Jiangsu, Hubei, Sichuan and other places.
