[Additional prescription] ① Treat rheumatic pain: 50 cents each of bamboo leaf pepper root bark, 50 cents each of radix polygoni multiflori, 30 cents each of black wind vine and large blood vine, soak in one catty of wine; take three times a day, one or two ounces each time. (Guizhou Herbs)

[Clinical Application] Pain relief: Take the fresh roots (or leaves and fruits) of Zanthoxylum bungeanum and use the distillation method to make an injection. Every 2 ml is equivalent to 2 grams of the raw drug. 2 to 4 ml is injected intramuscularly each time. 208 cases of biliary diseases, gastric and duodenal ulcers, intestinal spasms, and postoperative pain were treated. The analgesic effect usually occurred 10 to 20 minutes after medication. The effect would be faster if injected into the Zusanli acupoint. The analgesic effect can last for 5 to 10 hours, and the dose can be repeated every 12 hours if necessary. No adverse reactions were found during the application process, and it is not addictive. No obvious changes were found in body temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, etc.
