[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole body of the beach-dwelling Yangsuizu of the Yangsuizu family.

[Original morphology] The body of the beach-dwelling Yang Suizu is flat and star-shaped, the disc is slightly pentagonal, with a diameter of 7-11mm, and generally 5 arms, 100-180mm long, or longer. The interradial part of the disc is slightly concave, and the back is covered with bare skin with round perforated bone plates inside the skin. The radiata is long and pear-shaped, with the outer end connected to the base of the wrist and the inner end and sides surrounded by several rows of small oval scales. The oral shield is small and slightly pentagonal, and the side oral plates are triangular and do not connect to each other. The jaws are slender, with two oral spines forming a pair of subdental spines. The dorsal carpal plates are oval and connected to each other. The first piece of the abdominal wrist is small, the second and third pieces are nearly square, and gradually become wider afterwards. Wrist spinous and blunt, 4-8 in number. The tentacle pores are large, but there are no tentacle scales.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: When alive, the body is brown, the tip of the arm is gray-brown or gray, and the ventral surface is slightly lighter. It often lives in intertidal muddy beaches, with the tips of its two arms and tentacles often exposed outside the sand.
