【Original morphology】 Plant height 15-25cm. The rhizome is short and erect, and together with the base of the petiole, is densely covered with brown, linear-lanceolate scales. Leaves are clustered; petiole 5-8cm long, cylindrical, brown, slightly shiny, covered with brown multicellular long stiff hairs upwards along with the rachis; leaf blade lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 10-18cm long, 1.5-3cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded, once pinnate; pinnae 12-25 pairs, alternate, slightly obliquely spreading, with short petioles, oblique fan-shaped or triangular, base oblique cuneate, upper margin shallowly to mid-lobed, first pair of pinnae usually semicircular, lower ones 4-8mm long, 6-12mm wide, terminal pinnae fan-shaped or rhombic; leaf blade papery, surface sparsely covered with white multicellular hairs or glabrous, dorsally densely covered with white and multicellular appressed long hairs and brown multicellular coarse hairs toward the outer edge; rachis apex sometimes extends into a whip-like shape, roots on the ground, and reproduces asexually; veins unilaterally multi-dichotomously branched. The sori are nearly circular or oblong, borne dorsally on the lobes on the upper edge of the pinna, with 5-12 pieces per pinna; the sori cover is nearly circular or kidney-shaped, brown, entire, and has multicellular hairs.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on calcareous soil or limestone, commonly found on relatively dry rocks or at the foundation of walls.
