Does laundry detergent also contain carcinogens? Take a quick look at the ingredient list of the one you are using...

Laundry detergent is a detergent that is often used in daily life. It is convenient and easy to use to wash clothes, but it may hide dangers.

Use less laundry products containing these two ingredients!

Some cleaning products on the market may contain methylisothiazolinone and DMDM hydantoin. These two chemicals are often used as preservatives, but they may also decompose to form colorless and odorless formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is listed as a Class 1 carcinogen in the list of carcinogens published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). It can easily affect our respiratory tract and hematopoietic system, and in severe cases it can increase the risk of cancer. In addition to the two ingredients mentioned above, phosphorus, cocamide DEA, benzyl salicylate, and triclosan are also high-risk ingredients that are not good for human health and should be avoided as much as possible when purchasing.

As for the "fluorescent agent" ingredient that everyone is more concerned about, the International Agency for Research on Cancer under the World Health Organization has also conducted an investigation on it, but did not list it as a known carcinogen to humans. In 2011, the China Detergent Association publicly stated that fluorescent whitening agents used in detergents that meet the standards are safe and environmentally friendly.

This is how you use laundry detergent for better results!

01 Do not overuse

Many people think that the more detergent you put in, the cleaner your clothes will be. In fact, this is not true. Generally, the detergent or powder we buy will be marked with the corresponding usage amount, and you can use it according to the amount of clothes you want to wash. Whether the clothes are washed clean or not has no direct relationship with the detergent. On the contrary, if the detergent is too much, the clothes will become harder and older after a long time if they are not washed clean during the rinsing process.

02 Use warm water to wash clothes

Warm water is better than cold water in removing dirt, but it cannot be completely assumed that warm water is good. It still depends on the fabric of the clothes. Generally speaking, the water temperature for cotton fabrics is best at 40℃~50℃, while the most suitable water temperature for woolen clothes is around 35℃. If the water temperature is not well controlled, it will only damage the clothes.

03 It is best not to soak for a long time

Soaking clothes before washing does make it easier to remove stains. But it should be noted that the soaking time should not be too long, 15 to 20 minutes is enough. Because soaking for too long will not only cause the clothes to accumulate odor, but also cause the clothes to fade seriously and the fabric to age.
