In 2021, "Healthy Hangzhou" published a case in which Xiaoli (pseudonym), who had just graduated from university, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25.

1. Thyroid B-ultrasound

Lu Hao, deputy chief physician of surgery at the Third Hospital of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, introduced that the distinction is based on the morphology of thyroid nodules under B-ultrasound, which is the TI-RADS classification in the examination results.

TI-RADS classification can be divided into 7 categories, among which TI-RADS 0, TI-RADS 1, and TI-RADS 2 belong to the benign classification.

TI-RADS Category 3 is a less typical benign nodule, such as a complex nodular goiter, with a malignancy risk of less than 5%; TI-RADS Category 4 is a suspected malignant nodule; TI-RADS Category 5 is a typical thyroid cancer, with a malignancy risk of 85% to 100%; TI-RADS Category 6 is a malignant thyroid lesion confirmed by cytology and histology.

Therefore, if you see words such as TI-RADS Category 3, Category 4, Category 5, etc. on the report, please go to a professional medical institution for treatment in time.

2. Routine blood test

4. Tumor markers

Nowadays, tumor marker screening has become a physical examination item sought after by many people. Once the test results show elevated tumor markers, many people suspect that they have cancer.

Dr. Qiu Yong said that tumor markers used clinically are mainly used for efficacy monitoring, recurrence detection and prognosis assessment in high-risk groups for tumors, so physical examination screening for the general population is not recommended.

Drinking alcohol in a short period of time will affect tumor markers and cause fluctuations, which does not necessarily mean tumors. However, dynamic and continuous increases must be taken seriously.

5. Ultrasound examination

Many people go to the hospital for ultrasound examinations. The most common one is color B-ultrasound, which mainly examines the breast, heart, urinary system, female uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc.
