The ventral surface of the insect's thorax is black and shiny, the prothorax is bracelet-shaped, with a large, nearly rectangular black spot on the middle edge, and a large black spot on each side of the posterior lower edge. The wings are short and do not cover the end of the abdomen; there is also a large black spot at the corner of the elytra; each elytra has 9 parallel concave longitudinal lines, and the end of the abdomen is exposed outside the elytra. The female's abdomen has a blunt tip and there are tumor-like granular protrusions on the back of the beak.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Live in bamboo forests. Adults appear at the end of May, are abundant from June to August, and hibernate in indoor soil.
