Recently, Chen Zuhua, a citizen of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, picked up a number of stone tools suspected to be from the Neolithic Age in the Laohu River (a tributary of Xiushui, a tributary of Poyang Lake in the Yangtze River Basin) in Anyi County, Nanchang City. Among them, a circular stone tool with a diameter of 9 cm and obvious traces of artificial polishing on the surface has been identified by archaeological experts as a "meteor hammer" used by humans in the Neolithic Age for hunting. According to archaeological experts, the biggest difference between Neolithic and Paleolithic stone tools is chipped stone tools and polished stone tools. In the Paleolithic, people only made tools by hammering; in the Neolithic, people have learned to polish stone tools and use ropes to tie other stone tools together. The surface of Neolithic tools is polished to be smoother. As early as May 1989, archaeological experts conducted a survey of Paleolithic stone tools in Anyi County, Nanchang City, and discovered three Paleolithic stone tool sites. This discovery shows that humans lived on both sides of the river or in the hills at that time, which is of great significance to the study of the prehistoric history of Jiangxi Province.
