Don't take it lightly! If you have cold legs and feet, there may be something wrong here! Please keep the relief method

In cold seasons, people's bodies are always prone to some problems.

As winter arrives, many people suffer from cold legs and feet again. What is worrying is that even if they wear more clothes, the problem does not improve.

But some people also say that cold legs and feet are not limited to winter, and I have this feeling all year round.

Attention! If you always have cold legs and feet, you must pay attention to it, because it may be that your blood vessels are "sick"!

So, how do you tell if it's just cold legs and feet, or if it's caused by a disease? How can you alleviate it? This article explains it all.

If you have cold legs and feet, be alert to arterial problems!

The human body is full of blood vessels, which are mainly divided into arteries and veins. Arteries are responsible for transporting blood and nutrients from the heart to all parts of the body, and veins are responsible for recycling blood back to the heart. This is a blood circulation. Large arteries are sent out from the heart, and then like trees, many smaller arteries are branched out to supply various organs and limbs of the body.

**If there is a problem with the blood supply artery to the leg (narrowing or blockage), it will lead to insufficient blood supply to the legs and feet, resulting in various symptoms, such as cold legs and feet, lower limb pain, intermittent claudication and other discomforts. **At this time, we should be alert to whether there is a problem with the artery.

How to determine whether it is simply cold legs and feet or caused by a disease?

Let’s first talk about the two situations of cold legs and feet: one is that you feel cold, but you can’t feel the cold when you touch it with your hands; the other is that you feel cold and you feel the cold when you touch it.

In the first case, first consider whether there is lumbar spine disease and it is recommended to see an orthopedic doctor.

The second situation is generally that there is a problem with the arteries , and then we need to determine which artery has the problem.

The large blood vessels of the human body have a fork at the navel, called the iliac artery, with two branches on the left and right, supplying blood to the two legs respectively. Continuing downward, there is another fork at the base of the thigh, called the femoral artery. Then it continues downward and divides into three branches at the calf, supplying blood to the calf and foot. If there is a problem in any part of this arterial blood vessel pathway from the navel to the foot, it may cause cold legs and feet or intermittent claudication.

To this end, we have a simple way to test whether our blood vessels are unobstructed.

**Self-test 1: **Stand up, put your hands in your trouser pockets, and touch your thighs. Under normal circumstances, you can feel the pulsation of the artery, beating back and forth. If it stops beating or the beating is weak, there may be a problem, and it is recommended to see a doctor.

**Self-test 2: **Lie flat, take off your shoes and socks, and ask your family to touch your instep. Under normal circumstances, you can feel a weak arterial pulsation. This method is somewhat difficult. If you cannot make an accurate judgment, it is recommended to see a doctor.

How to relieve cold legs and feet?

If it is determined that the cold legs and feet are caused by arterial vascular disease, there are generally several relief methods, corresponding to mild to severe symptoms.

Method 1: Walk more and keep warm. Wear thicker socks, comfortable sports shoes or cotton shoes. Rub your feet repeatedly and gently with your hands, but be careful not to use too much force. Soaking your feet or using electric heaters to warm your feet is not recommended.

Method 2: Go to the hospital for treatment and take some vasodilator drugs orally. Through the action of the drugs, the tiny blood vessels in the feet are expanded, so that more blood supply is provided and the symptoms are relieved.

Method 3: If the problem of the artery from the navel to the foot is serious, then surgery is required. Now minimally invasive interventional treatment can be used to treat the lesion through a needle hole at the base of the thigh. It may require drug balloon dilatation or stent implantation to solve the diseased blood vessels, restore blood flow to the legs, and warm up the cold feet.
