According to a study by American Express, nearly half of respondents were motivated to choose a destination because it would look beautiful in a photo or video. Meanwhile, 48% said they wanted to go to a destination they could show off on social media. In addition to selfies, 75% of travelers also look to social media for inspiration for their next trip, making it the most common source of travel inspiration, surpassing other media sources and recommendations from friends and family.
