How to distinguish the authenticity of deer antler slices

There are more and more kinds of health products on the market now, such as ginseng, American ginseng, deer antler and so on, which are too numerous to count. Especially, there are so many fake deer antlers that some friends have said that even the deer antlers bought in large pharmacies may be fake. The QR codes and barcodes above cannot be scanned, and the smell is particularly unpleasant. So today I will share with you a method on how to distinguish the authenticity of deer antlers. You can refer to it.

The skin is reddish brown. The saw cut surface is yellow-white, with an obvious ring-shaped bone or none on the outside, and a darker color. There are honeycomb-like pores inside, which gradually widen or become hollow in the middle, and some are brown. It is light, hard and brittle. It has a slightly fishy smell and a salty taste. Generally speaking, the best antler slices are those that are light in weight, have a honeycomb-like cross-section, and have dense tissue. In the modern medicinal material market, the slices of velvet antler cut near the top are often called blood slices. The blood smear is about 1 mm thick, honey-fat color, slightly reddish, and smooth on the surface. The slices cut from the lower part of the antler are called powder slices. The flakes are about 1.5 mm thick, off-white, powdery, smooth on the surface, with fine pores, and the periderm is purple-black with a fishy smell. The sand piece is close to the bone end, with a rough surface and honeycomb-like pores. Blood tablets are very effective but expensive, powder tablets are second best and cheaper, and sand tablets are the next best. The bone slice is closest to the bone end and its quality is worse than the sand slice. Currently, there are three main types of counterfeit antler slices on the market: replaced with deer antler slices. Wrap the flour and pig blood mixture with pig skin and then slice it. The outer skin is genuine deer antler slices, and other substances are filled inside. To identify the authenticity of antler slices with the naked eye, antler slices are round and crescent-shaped, while the real ones are only round. The edges of deer antler pieces are highly keratinized and may even have tooth-like protrusions, while the genuine ones are less keratinized and have no protrusions. The outer periphery of the bone fragment is white, while the middle part is burnt brown. The genuine product will not have a white outer periphery. The holes in the bone fragment are large and mostly cracked, and some holes are filled with dark brown. In addition, you can also use the water test method to identify the authenticity of deer antler slices. Genuine deer antler slices do not deform when put into water, do not break when heated or stirred, and do not become soft or mushy when boiled.

There are many ways to eat deer antlers. Friends who like to drink can soak some deer antlers in the wine, which is also a nourishing method. However, it contains ethanol, which will affect the body's absorption of calcium, so it is not a very good nourishing method. Another method is to stew it with lean meat. Stewing it with meat can enhance sexual function.
