[Source] The whole plant of Ardisia pubescens of the Myrsinaceae family . Available all year round.

[Original form] Small evergreen shrub. The runners are long, the stems are sparsely branched, obliquely upward, and densely covered with long reddish-brown hairs. There are 3 to 5 leaves arranged in whorls; ovate or ovate-oblong, 2 to 6 cm long, 1.5 to 3 cm wide, slightly pointed at the tip, cuneate at the base, with sparsely serrated edges and small thorns, and long hairs on both sides; the petiole is 5 to 10 mm long and densely covered with hairs. The cymes grow in the axils of scale leaves, are 2 to 3 cm long, and are covered with long and short soft hairs; there are 2 to 4 flowers; the pedicels are 7 to 12 mm long; the calyx lobes are lanceolate with sharp heads; the corolla is light pink or white, with a diameter of 6 to 7 mm; there are 5 stamens with short filaments; there is 1 pistil with a spherical ovary. The berries are red, 5 to 6 mm in diameter. Flowering period is summer.
