State Post Bureau: From January to April 2023, the total express delivery volume reached 37.1 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 17.0%

The State Post Bureau announced the operation of the postal industry in April. From January to April, the postal industry's delivery business volume totaled 46.8 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%. Among them, the express delivery business volume totaled 37.1 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 17.0%.

From January to April, the total volume of same-city express delivery business was 3.87 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%; the total volume of inter-city express delivery business was 32.37 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%; the total volume of international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express delivery business was 860 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 54.1%.

In terms of express delivery business volume, out-of-town business volume accounts for 87.3%, the largest proportion; intra-city business volume is second, accounting for 10.4%; international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business volume accounts for 2.3%, the smallest proportion. In terms of express delivery business income structure, out-of-town business income still ranks first, accounting for 50.7%; international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business income accounts for 10.9%; intra-city business income accounts for 6%.

From the chart, we can see that the eastern region has the largest express delivery business volume, reaching 76%, followed by the central region at 16.2%, and the western region at the lowest at only 7.8%. In terms of revenue, the express delivery business revenue in the east accounts for 76.3%, the central region accounts for 14.1%, and the western region accounts for 9.6%.
