State Post Bureau: From January to February 2023, the postal industry's delivery business volume totaled 21.0 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%

Recently, the State Post Bureau announced the operation of the postal industry in February 2023. From January to February, the postal industry completed a total of 21.0 billion pieces of delivery business, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%. Among them, the express delivery business volume totaled 16.4 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%; the postal group's delivery business volume totaled 4.59 billion pieces, a year-on-year decrease of 2.3% .

In January and February, the total volume of same-city express delivery business was 1.71 billion pieces, a year-on-year decrease of 8.0%; the total volume of inter-city business was 14.30 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; the total volume of international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business was 400 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 35.7%.

From January to February, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct business income of the Postal Savings Bank) totaled 226.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. Among them, the express delivery business income totaled 161.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%; the postal group's delivery business income totaled 6.46 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.5%. In February, the postal industry's delivery business volume reached 11.57 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%. Among them, the express delivery business volume reached 9.18 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 32.8%; the postal group's delivery business volume reached 2.39 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%. In February, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct business income of the Postal Savings Bank) reached 114.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.4%. Among them, the express delivery business income reached 84.97 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.3%; the postal group's delivery business income reached 3.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%. In January and February, the express delivery business volume in the same city, different cities, and international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 10.4%, 87.2% and 2.4% of the total express delivery business volume respectively; the business income accounted for 6.0%, 51.2% and 10.6% of the total express delivery income respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express delivery business volume in the same city decreased by 1.4 percentage points, the proportion of express delivery business volume in different cities increased by 0.9 percentage points, and the proportion of international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business volume increased by 0.5 percentage points.

From January to February, the proportion of express delivery business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 76.0%, 16.1% and 7.9% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 75.9%, 14.2% and 9.9% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express delivery business volume in the eastern region decreased by 1.7 percentage points, and the proportion of express delivery business income decreased by 1.3 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery business volume in the central region increased by 0.9 percentage points, and the proportion of express delivery business income increased by 0.6 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery business volume in the western region increased by 0.8 percentage points, and the proportion of express delivery business income increased by 0.7 percentage points.
