econsultancy: Mobile users' shopping frequency and spending are still low

According to Econsultancy, email and search are the most popular smartphone apps after phone calls. Of the apps used in the past week, 74% of smartphone owners used email and 67% used search.

This once again illustrates the importance of mobile search, which is expected to surpass desktop search next year. This is an opportunity that no brand can ignore. The same is true for offline stores, with 36% of smartphone users using map tools in the past 7 days.

Screen Page data shows that the conversion rate on desktop computers is 5.41%, while on iPads it is 4.16% and on smartphones it is only 1.3%. The frequency of shopping on smartphones is still low, with only 12% of people buying more than 7 times in the past 6 months.

Among those who have purchased products using smartphones, 54% spent less than 50 euros in the past month. This shows that most users are still not interested in purchasing through mobile websites or apps, although 30% of mobile shoppers spend more than 100 euros.
