[Original form] Berry neem shrub or small tree, 1-10m high. The bark is light brown; the twigs are covered with fine hairs when young, gradually becoming hairless. The odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate, 8-25cm long with petioles, and the rachis is sparsely pubescent to glabrous; the leaflets are 9-13, opposite, with short petioles, and the leaf blades are membranous, oblong to elliptical, 1.5-8cm long, 1-3cm wide, with short acuminate apex, broad cuneate base, entire margin, glabrous above or sparsely pubescent along the midrib, and sparsely, closely pubescent along the midrib and lateral veins below. The panicle is 8-13cm long and nearly glabrous; the flowers are bisexual, 5-merous, white or light yellow, and about 3mm in diameter; the calyx teeth are broadly triangular and covered with fine soft hairs on the outside; the petals are membranous, oblong, about 2.5mm long, short-pointed, and nearly glabrous; the stamen tube is glabrous; and the ovary is glabrous. The fruit is purple-red and about 4mm in diameter. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruit ripening period is from December to February of the following year.
