[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Indigofera scabra.

[Original form] Indigofera sparsely flowered perennial herb, 30-60cm tall. The base nodes are swollen and geniculate, the stem is sparsely branched, with blunt edges and long white multicellular hairs. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 1-5cm long, with wings on the upper part of petiole; leaf blade is broadly ovate to elliptic, 4-10cm long, 3-6cm wide, with short pointed tip, blunt head, sometimes sharp, base cuneate and decurrent, margin sparsely serrated, covered with sparse long hairs on the upper side, with linear stalactite shape, and especially with many hairs on the veins on the lower side. Several flowers gather in a head-shaped spike inflorescence; bracts are leaf-shaped, about 1.5cm long on the outside and smaller on the inside; bracteoles are linear-spatulate, about 1cm long, both with sparse long hairs; calyx is 6-10mm long, 5-lobed, with linear lobes and sparse long hairs; corolla is lavender, 2.5-3.5cm long, the corolla tube is thin at the bottom, expanded and slightly curved at the top, with 5 lobes, almost equal, sparsely covered with soft hairs on the outside, and 2 rows of short soft hairs on the inside; 4 stamens, didynamous, with filaments connected by a membrane at the base. Capsule about 1 cm long, with short soft hairs near the tip. There are 4 seeds, which are broadly oval, about 3mm long, and have brown hairs. The flowering period is July-August, and the fruiting period is September-October.
