[Original form] Crowfoot flower, perennial small herb, 2-9cm high. The rhizome is short, with clustered, slender fibrous roots. Leaves are basal; petioles are 1-4cm long, relatively broad and flat, with the base expanded into a sheath shape; leaves are ovate, obovate or oblong, 0.3-3cm long, 5-25mm wide, entire, or with inconspicuous serrations, and cuneate at the base. Scapes 1-3, glabrous; flowers bisexual, solitary, 1.5-3cm in diameter; sepals 5, broadly obovate, 4-10mm long, nearly leathery, glabrous, green, enlarged during fruiting, persistent; petals 10-15, lanceolate or oblong, 8-15mm long, 1.5-4mm wide, orange-yellow or white on the surface, gradually narrowing at the base into claws, nectar pits cup-shaped depressions; stamens numerous, filaments thin, 2-4 times longer than anthers, anthers 0.5-1.2mm long; receptacle broad and flat; carpels numerous. Achenes are cuneate-shaped and rhombic, 2.5-3mm long and 1-1.5mm wide, with 4 longitudinal ribs, obvious dorsal ribs, short and hard beak, and wings on both sides of the base. Flowering and fruiting period is June to August.

The fibrous roots are clustered, brown to dark brown, up to 20 cm long, less than 1 mm in diameter, with vertical straight lines; the broken surface is brown. The leaves are clustered, yellow-green, oval or oblong, 0.2-2.8cm long and 0.5-2.2cm wide; the petiole is 1-4cm long with narrow wings on the upper part.
