Flowers dioecious; male flowers form inflorescences, or there are single flowers coexisting with them, peduncle 10-26cm long, with longitudinal stripes, densely covered with short soft hairs; bracteoles lanceolate or oblanceolate, with triangular teeth on the margins; calyx tube narrow and long, apex enlarged, about 5mm long, 2mm wide at the base, 4-7mm wide at the top, covered with soft hairs; corolla folded, lobes narrow and oblong, about 15mm long, about 3mm wide, with 10-15mm long filamentous tassels, 3 stamens, short filaments, female herb solitary, pedicel 1-3.5cm long, with longitudinal stripes, densely covered with short soft hairs; calyx tube cylindrical, 2-5cm long, 2-3mm in diameter, pubescent or glabrous, calyx teeth and corolla are the same as those of male flowers; ovary long ovate, 1-1.5cm long, 3-5mm in diameter, covered with short soft hairs. The fruit is oval or young hammer-shaped oval, 5-7cm long and 2.5-4cm in diameter. It is green with stripes when young, orange-red when ripe, smooth and hairless, and has a beak. The seeds are triangular in outline, 7-9mm long and 7-8mm wide, light yellowish brown or dark brown, with 3 chambers, small chambers on both sides, and a wide and raised central ring.
