[Original morphology] 1. Tengli is an annual or biennial herb, 5-30cm tall. The stem is erect, or with many branches from the base, covered with white tiny capitate hairs. Basal leaves are petiolate, petiole is 1-2cm long; leaf blade is narrowly spoon-shaped or oblanceolate, once pinnately shallowly or deeply lobed, 3-5cm long, 1-1.5cm wide, with short pointed tip, sparsely notched serrations on margin, gradually narrowing at base; stem leaves are lanceolate or oblong, middle leaf blade is 1.5-2cm long, 2-5mm wide, slightly wider at base, sessile, attached to stem, with sparsely serrated margins; uppermost leaves are linear, pointed at tip, with few sparsely serrated margins or nearly entire; both surfaces are glabrous or with sparse, pubescent hairs. The raceme is terminal and can be extended to 5cm during the fruiting period; the flowers are small and loosely arranged; there are 4 sepals, which are nearly ovate, with white membranous edges and curved white soft hairs on the outside; the petals are absent or degenerate into filaments, which are shorter than the sepals; there are 2 or 4 stamens, which are equal in length; there are 4 nectaries, which are short; there is 1 pistil, the ovary is oval and flat, without style, and the stigma is round and flat. The short silique is oval or elliptical, 2-3mm long, flat, slightly concave at the apex, with persistent very short flower branches, very narrow wings at the top of the fruit petals, and the false septum is less than 1mm wide. The seeds are elliptical-ovate, smooth on the surface, brown-red or yellow-brown. The flowering period is May-June, and the fruiting period is June-July.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. It grows on hillsides, ditches, roadsides and near villages at an altitude of 400-2000m. It is a common field weed.

[Chemical composition] Both the stems and leaves contain chlorophyll-protein. The molar ratio of chlorophyll a to chlorophyll b in the chlorophyll protein contained in the stem is 3.4-3.5; while the molar ratio of chlorophyll a to chlorophyll b in the chlorophyll protein contained in the leaves is 1.5-1.7, and the relative molecular mass is 80,000.
