Leaves are alternate, located at the bottom of the stem and degenerated into scales, with the middle petiole 4-8mm long and covered with brown short-stalked glands; the leaf blade is ovate, rhombic-ovate or ovate-elliptic, gradually narrowing upward to ovate-lanceolate, 1.5-3(-6)cm long, 0.7-3cm wide, acuminate at the apex, cuneate or broadly cuneate at the base, rarely nearly rounded, with slightly wavy edges, glabrous or sparsely covered with small bristles above when young, covered with short-stalked glands below, with obvious reticulate veins on both sides. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils at the top of the stem; pedicels slender, 2-4m long, sparsely covered with short-stalked glands; calyx 3.5-4mm long, 5 deeply lobed nearly to the base, lobes gradually pointed from the ovate base to awl-shaped; corolla yellow, 7-10mm long, lobed nearly to the base, lobes narrowly oblong, 2.7-4mm wide, obtuse at the apex; stamens 5, filaments base united into a ring 0.75mm high and fused to the base of the corolla, the separated part is not obvious, about the same length as the cordate base of the anther, anther 3-4mm long, apex dehiscent; style slender, 3.5-5mm long, ovary superior, 1-chambered.
