[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting body of the fungus Pseudomonas elmioides of the Polyporaceae family.

[Original morphology] The fruiting body is corky to woody, sessile, and sometimes has a decurrent base. The cap is semicircular, fan-shaped, hemispherical or irregular in shape, and can be more than 30 cm wide; the cap surface is yellowish white to light yellowish brown, smooth, without ring marks, and with irregular grooves; the cap edge is thin or slightly blunt, wavy, and slightly curved. The surface of the tube mouth is light reddish brown, light yellow to light purple brown; the tube mouth is small, nearly round, and there are 4 every 1mm; the bacterial tube has multiple layers, with bacterial flesh sandwiched between each layer, and each layer is 4-15mm long. The flesh of the mushroom is soft and white at first, but becomes darker and harder as it ages. The spores are nearly spherical, smooth, colorless, and 5-8.5 μm in diameter.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing at the base of the trunks of elm and other broad-leaved trees.

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the bone marrow and strengthens the tendons and veins. Mainly used for soreness of waist and knees; weakness of tendons and veins; traumatic injuries

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 6-15g.
