It blooms from March to April, with many flowers clustered at the ends of branches in a dense pattern; the calyx is deeply lobed into 5 parts, the lobes are lanceolate, 6 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, and covered with very short soft hairs; the corolla is radiate, connate at the lower part, with 5 lobes, opposite, of varying lengths, about 6.5-8 mm long; the ovary is superior, ovate, covered with long white soft hairs, and has 1 chamber.
