[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of Chinese drynaria plant of the Drynariaceae family.

【Original form】The plant is up to 40cm tall. The rhizome is long and horizontal, and together with the petiole, is densely covered with dark brown scales that are ovate at the base and long subulate at the top with eyelashes on the edges. Leaves are distal; petiole is about 15cm long, brown straw color, smooth upward; leaf blade is thick papery, pentagonal, about 18-22cm long and wide, apex acuminate and shallowly toothed, base heart-shaped, and pinnate-lobed three times; pinnae are about 10 pairs, the petiole at the bottom is 4-6mm long, the pair at the base is the largest, triangular, 10-12cm long, 8-10cm wide; pinnae gradually narrow upward, apex short acuminate, base oblique; pinnules are 8-10 pairs once, with short petioles, one on the lower side of the base is particularly large, oblong-lanceolate, 5-6cm long, 2.5-3cm wide, acute, deeply pinnate-lobed to a small rachis with narrow wings; terminal pinnules are about 6 pairs, sessile, one pair at the base is larger, oblong, with a rounded blunt head, oblique cuneate base, and decurrent on the lower side; leaf veins are pinnate-forked, obliquely upward. The sori are located on all pinnae, dorsally located near the upper edge of the pinnae, with usually one blunt tooth on each lobe; the sori lid is tubular, reddish brown, and truncated at the apex.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: epiphytic in valleys, rocks beside streams or on tree trunks at an altitude of 500-1400m.
