[Source] It is the flower of the Bougainvillea glabra, a plant of the Mirabilis family. The flowers are picked in various places when they bloom, dried and set aside.

【Original form】Climbing shrub. The stem is thick with axillary straight thorns. Leaves are alternate, papery, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 5-10 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, entire, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, glabrous or slightly pubescent beneath; petiole about 1 cm long. The flowers are terminal, often clustered in bracts of 3, with the pedicels fused to the midrib of the bracts; the bracts are 3, leaf-like, dark red or purple, elliptical, 3-5 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, entire, papery; the corolla is tubular, light green, with 5 teeth at the apex. Achenes have 5 ribs.

[Habitat distribution] Native to Brazil; cultivated in my country. The flowering period of cultivated plants in Guangzhou is between winter and spring, while the flowering period of greenhouse potted plants in North China is from March to July.
