The efficacy and function of Qinghai iris

Qinghai iris is a kind of Chinese herbal medicine. We can use Qinghai iris to treat many diseases, and it also has good health-preserving effects. Therefore, we can use the different medicinal effects of Qinghai iris to solve some small problems that bother us in life.

[Source] Medicinal material source: The seeds of Iris dasyphylla of the Iridaceae family.

[Original form] Qinghai iris is a perennial dense herb. The base of the plant retains broken, hair-like fibrous leaf sheaths, which are brown in color. The rhizome is woody and tuberous; the fibrous roots are rope-shaped and gray-brown. The leaves are narrowly linear, 5-15cm long, 2-3mm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, and have no obvious midrib. The flower stem is very short and does not extend out of the ground. The base is often covered with membranous sheath leaves. The bracts are 3, opposite, lanceolate, 6-10cm long and 6-18mm wide, containing 1-2 flowers. The flowers are bluish purple or blue, the perianth is filamentous, up to 6cm long, the upper part of the outer perianth lobes are reflexed outwards, and the inner perianth lobes are about 3cm long and upright. The stamens are up to 2cm long, and the lobes at the top of the style branches are narrow and needle-shaped triangular; the ovary is slightly thicker in the middle. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is July-August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in sunny grasslands on plateau slopes above 2500m above sea level.
