[Source] Medicinal material source: A paste made from the young leaves of Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze var. assamica (Mast.) Kitamura [Thea assamica Mast.] of the Theaceae family.

[Original form] Pu'er tea is an evergreen small tree to tree, 10-17m high. Branchlets finely hairy when young. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is up to 1cm long; leaf blade is leathery, ovate-elliptical to oblong-lanceolate, 10-20cm long, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, with fine serrations on margin, glabrous on both sides. The cyme has 1-4 flowers, axillary; the flowers are white, fragrant, and about 4 cm in diameter; the sepals are 5, persistent, glabrous inside, the petals are 7-9, fused at the base and fused to the outer stamens; the stamens are numerous, in 2 whorls, the filaments of the outer whorl are fused into long or short tubes, the inner whorl has 5-15 filaments, separate, all glabrous, and the anthers are T-shaped; the ovary is superior, 3-chambered, hairy, and the anther splits only at the apex. The capsule is oblate, 3-4cm in diameter. The seeds are round, about 15 mm in diameter.
