The leaves are flat, linear, 10 to 30 cm long, 5 to 10 mm wide, gradually pointed at the tip, narrowing to a short petiole at the base, and bare. The raceme is solitary, with a 6-8 mm long involucre and a short pointed apex; the rachis is flat and about 4 mm long; the sessile spikelet is about 4 mm long; the lemma of the first floret is about 4 mm long, with a short pointed apex and 5 veins; the palea is equal in length to the lemma, with narrow and involute margins; the lemma of the second floret is broadly ovate, slightly shorter than that of the first floret, convex on the back, flattened on both sides, with a short pointed apex, narrow and involute margins, and a blunt tip of the palea; the degenerate stalked spikelet is glume-shaped, flat, long ovate, about 1 mm long, and the spikelet stalk is flat, about 3-4 mm long; the male or neutral stalked spikelet is about 4 mm long. Flowering period is from July to October.

[Habitat distribution] Growing at the edge of forests and hedges. Distributed throughout South China and Southwest my country.
