[Source] Medicinal material source: The stem pith of the sprouting branches of the white powder green pod leaf of the Cornaceae plant.

[Original form] Deciduous shrub, up to 2m tall. Young branches are green, glabrous, with prominent leaf scars. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 1-5cm long; stipules are linearly divided; leaf blades are papery, ovate or ovate, 3-9cm long, 2-6cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, broadly cuneate at the base, or nearly circular, light green above, covered with white powder below, often grayish white or pinkish green, with thorny glandular serrations on the edges. Dioecious, with 4-12 male flowers in umbel or dense cymes, inserted on 1/2-1/3 of the midrib of the leaf surface, 3-5 stamens, inserted on the inner side of the disk; 1-3 female flowers, inserted in the same place as male flowers; ovary oval or spherical, with 3-5-lobed stigma. Berries are black when ripe, with 3-5 cores. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is August-September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing under forests at an altitude of 1200-2800m.
