[Source] Medicinal material source: The root or whole herb of the Umbelliferae plant, Apium tibetica.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 20-40cm high. The whole plant is hairless. The root is thin cylindrical, dark brown, and 4-6mm in diameter. Stems erect, solitary or tufted, cylindrical, striated. There are many stem leaves, 10-20cm long including petiole; the leaf blade is triangular in outline, pinnate-shaped two to three times, with 7-9 pairs of pinnae, one pinnae is lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, the last lobes are broadly cuneate, about 5mm long and wide, and the pinnae are deeply divided into linear lobes; the leaves on the upper part of the stem are the same shape as the basal leaves, and the petioles are sheath-shaped. Compound umbels terminal or lateral; 5-7 bracts, linear-lanceolate, caudate-split at apex, margin light brown transparent membranous; 6-12 rays; 7-9 bracteoles, same shape as bracteoles; umbels with many flowers, calyx teeth narrowly triangular; petals white, nearly round; anthers dark purple; style short, forked. The double-hanging fruit is oval, 3-4mm long, with narrow wings on the fruit ribs, 3 oil tubes in each rib groove, and 6 oil tubes on the commissure. The flowering period is August, and the fruiting period is September-October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on grass slopes at an altitude of 3500-4500m.
