【Original morphology】 Plant height 40-60cm. The rhizome is long and horizontal, and together with the base of the petiole, is densely covered with dark brown, broadly oval scales with reddish-brown edges and a shield shape. Leaves are distal; petiole 15-30cm long, light green; leaf blade oblong-ovate, 25-30cm long, 10-15cm wide, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, four-pinnately lobed; pinnae about 12 pairs, obliquely upward, oblong-lanceolate, about 15cm long, 5-6cm wide, one pair of petioles at base 1.5-2cm long; upper pinnae gradually narrow, acuminate at apex, oblique at base, cuneate; pinnules 12-15 pairs once, with short petioles and extremely narrow wings, triangular-lanceolate, one larger one on the lower side of the base, asymmetric at base, deeply pinnately lobed to a rachis with extremely narrow wings; pinnules 6-8 pairs twice, oblong, blunt-headed, base decurrent downward, deeply pinnately lobed; terminal segments narrowly sickle-shaped, entire or notched into short lobes of unequal length; venation forked, each lobe with one veinlet. The sori are small, numerous, dorsally borne below the lobes, and attached to the tips of the short veins on the upper side; the sori lid is cup-shaped, gray-brown, entire, with truncate upper margin and rounded base.
