[Original form] Blueberry, also known as: Wenpu (Shenyang Tongzhi), red bean, tooth lump.

[Habitat distribution] Growing under alpine coniferous forests or in bushes. Distributed in Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang and other places.

[Chemical composition] Contains arbutin, ursolic acid, pyrin, salix glycoside, 4-hydroxyphenyl, β-gentiobiose, hyperoside, scutellaria baicalensis glycoside, and quercetin 3-D-glucose-L-rhamnoside. 2-o-caffeoylarbutin, isoquercetin. It also contains 7.9-8.2% pyrocatechol-type tannins, including d-catechin, l-epicatechin, and d-gallic acid catechin.

[Pharmacological action] 5% extract of the dried whole herb has an anti-hormone effect on male frogs, which is not caused by tannins. The infusion or decoction can be used as a diuretic (to treat kidney stones), and can be used for rheumatism and gout, and the fruit can be used for vitamin deficiency.

【Functions and indications】 ①《Pharmacology of Chinese medicine》: "It is used for urethritis, cystitis and acute kyphosis."

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 2 qian.
