[Original form] The twisted fruit moss is a stemless perennial herb, 7-14cm tall. The rhizome is short and thick, with densely covered fibrous roots. Leaves are basal; petioles are 0.5-6cm long, densely covered with short hairs; leaves are leathery. Ovate or broadly ovate, sometimes nearly round, 2-7.5cm long, 1.5-4cm wide, obtuse at apex, truncated at base, broadly cuneate at center, with obtuse serrations on margin, and short, rough hairs on both sides. Green on top, light green on the bottom. Scapes 2-4, 7-14cm high, densely covered with short rough hairs; cymes with 2-10 flowers; bracts ovate, about 7mm long; bracteoles linear, tiny; calyx bell-shaped, about 5mm long, 5 shallowly lobed, lobes nearly equal, triangular; corolla white or pink, bell-shaped tubular, about 2.4cm long, sparsely hairy on the outside, crown slightly oblique, 5-lobed, lobes nearly equal; stamens 4, 2 fertile stamens, hidden, anthers connected; ovary slender, covered with short hairs. The capsule is linear, about 3.8 cm long, spirally twisted, and becomes glabrous. Flowering period is July-August. Fruiting period is September-October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on rocks at an altitude of 2300-3000m.
