After oral administration, it decomposes into trace amounts of hydrocyanic acid, which has a certain cough-relieving effect. The oil contained in it has a mild expectorant effect. The water decoction of this product has antibacterial, antiasthmatic and expectorant effects in animal experiments.

Ingredients: Contains various bioalkaloids such as Stemonal and Prostemonal.

Nature and flavor: sweet, bitter, neutral. It enters the lung meridian.
