[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Malvaceae, a plant of the Malvaceae family.

[Original form] Sticky-hairy yellow-flowered herb or subshrub, up to 1m tall. The stem is erect, covered with mucilaginous stellate glandular hairs and long hairs. Simple leaves are alternate; petioles are 1-3cm long and covered with long soft hairs; stipules are linear, about 5mm long; leaf blades are ovate-cordate, 3-6cm long, 2.5-4.5cm wide, acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, with blunt teeth on the margins, and covered with sticky stellate soft hairs on both sides. Flowers are bisexual, solitary or paired, or several clustered in axillary on short branches, and arranged in leafy panicles, with pedicels noded near the middle; calyx 5-lobed, sparsely covered with long hairs; petals 5, yellow, about 1 cm in diameter, fused at the base; stamen column covered with long stiff hairs; ovary carpels 5-10, style branches and carpels the same number, stigma capitate. The capsule is nearly spherical, with 5 schizocarps, no awn at the tip, with a short pointed head, and enclosed in the persistent calyx. Seeds ovate, glabrous. Flowering period: winter and spring.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows on forest edges, grass slopes or in roadside grass.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet; slightly spicy; fragrant; neutral

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; promotes blood circulation and reduces swelling; relieves cough. Mainly bronchitis; hepatitis; dysentery; mastitis; carbuncle and swelling

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 15g, fresh product 15-30g. For external use: Take appropriate amount and mash the fresh leaves for external application.
