Flowers are bisexual, solitary or paired, or several clustered in axillary on short branches, and arranged in leafy panicles, with pedicels noded near the middle; calyx 5-lobed, sparsely covered with long hairs; petals 5, yellow, about 1 cm in diameter, fused at the base; stamen column covered with long stiff hairs; ovary carpels 5-10, style branches and carpels the same number, stigma capitate. The capsule is nearly spherical, with 5 schizocarps, no awn at the tip, with a short pointed head, and enclosed in the persistent calyx. Seeds ovate, glabrous. Flowering period: winter and spring.
