[Source] It is the stems, leaves or roots of the Yunnan Qingfengteng plant of the Qingfengteng family. Harvested in autumn and sun-dried.

【Original form】 Vine-like shrub. Leaves are alternate; lanceolate, 3.9-6.9 cm long, 12-19.8 mm wide, with long acuminate tip, broad cuneate base, slightly asymmetrical on both sides, entire, sometimes wavy, and protruding veins below. The flowers are axillary, green with dark purple halos, arranged in cymes of 2 to 3 flowers. The peduncle of the inflorescence is slender, 2.4 to 3.9 cm long and slightly curved; the pedicel is 6 to 12 mm long, slightly swollen at the top; there are 5 petals; the style is about 3 mm long and is located on one side of the ovary. The fruit consists of two carpels. When both are developed, the fruit is only connected at the base to form a dichotomous fruit. One of the carpels is often undeveloped, and the other is a single fruit that is flattened oblique ovate, about 6 mm long, with a persistent style at the tip, gray-brown, and reticular. Both the single fruit and the dichotomous fruit have one seed.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in shady and wet areas in mountain valleys. Distributed in Yunnan.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cold, slightly toxic.

【Functions and indications】Relieve rheumatism, relieve pain, and eliminate sores. Treat rheumatic paralysis and rheumatic low back pain.
