[Source] This product is the dried leaves of Rhododendron dauricum L., a plant of the Ericaceae family . The roots are also used as medicine. Harvested in summer and autumn, dried in the shade, the roots can be harvested at any time and used fresh or sliced ​​and dried.

[Properties] This product is mostly rolled into a tube, and some are wrinkled and broken. When the complete leaf is flattened, it is elliptical or oblong, 2 to 7.5 cm long and 1 to 3 cm wide; the apex is obtuse, the base is nearly round or broadly cuneate, and the margin is entire; the upper surface is dark green to brown-green with scattered light yellow glandular scales; the lower surface is gray-green with many glandular scales. The vascular bundle of the main vein is double-tough, with the pericycle fibers arranged discontinuously in a ring on the periphery. There are multiple rows of thick-cornered cells on the inner side of the upper and lower epidermis, and single-cell non-glandular hairs on the upper surface of the leaf veins. The parenchyma cells and spongy cells contain clusters of calcium oxalate crystals.
