[Source] It is the whole herb of Geranium gracilis of the Geranium family. It can be harvested throughout the year and used dried or fresh.

[Original form] Annual herb, 25 to 35 cm tall. The roots are numerous, thick, wire-like, and juicy. The stem is slender, erect or leaning at the bottom, much branched, slightly covered with white soft hairs, with obvious nodes, and the stem is slightly curved near the nodes. Leaves are opposite, pentagonal-round, 4 to 7 cm long and wide, 3 to 5-partite; lobes are deeply pinnate-partite, ovate; there are about 3 pairs of lobules, rectangular, with convex tips; petioles are 2 to 4 times longer than the leaf blade, and the upper ones do not exceed the leaf blade. The inflorescence stalk is much longer than the leaves, with two flowers at the end; the stalk is slightly shorter than the flowers; the sepals are lanceolate, covered with long white hairs, with three veins, and one raised in the middle; the petals are reddish purple, twice as long as the sepals. The capsule is 1.8 to 2.5 cm long.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on hillside wastelands and under sparse forests. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Hubei, Sichuan and other places.

[Properties and flavors] "Commonly used folk herbs in Kunming": "Neutral in nature, spicy and sour in taste."

【Functions and indications】 Treat rheumatic pain, sores, boils, and swelling.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 3 to 5 qian; or soak in wine. For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] ① For the treatment of rheumatic joint pain, measles, and uterine prolapse: 3 to 8 qian of cat's paw prints, decocted in water or soaked in wine. (Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine)
