Flowers are unisexual and dioecious; female flowers are clustered in the axils of the lower part of long branches or at the top of short branches, with 4 sepals, ovate-lanceolate, with reduced stamens; 4 petals; and 2 shallowly lobed or nearly half-cleft styles.
