The hairs are denser in the upper part and on the axis of the inflorescence, and the internodes are 1-2 cm long. The leaves are mainly stem-borne, with the lower and middle leaves elliptical or oblong, 7-10cm long. 2-3.5cm wide, with short or small convex tip, base gradually narrowed and decurrent, nearly sessile, with hard sharp teeth on the edge, covered with short white hairs above and dense silky hairs or wool below; the upper leaves are smaller, sessile, 2-4cm long, 0.4-1.5cm wide, covered with dense white wool or silky hairs on both sides, with sharp teeth on the edges. The capitula are mostly clustered in 2-7 pieces, arranged in spike-like panicles; the involucre is cylindrical or bell-shaped; the involucre has 4-5 layers, lavender on the upper part, the outer layer is linear-lanceolate, with white hairs on the back, the middle layer is linear-oblong, with sparse hairs on the back, and the inner layer is extremely narrow and filamentous; the receptacle is glabrous; the flowers are yellow; the female flowers are numerous, with 3-toothed fringe on the corolla; the bisexual flowers are fewer, with 5-sparse-6-shallow lobes on the corolla fringe, with sparse hairs and glands. Achenes are cylindrical, with 10 ridges and covered with hairs; the pappus is white, rough and hairy and easily detached. The flowering period is from December to April of the following year.
