The base is cuneate, entire, with flat margins, sparsely pubescent or silky on both sides or falling off and nearly glabrous. Flowers bisexual; single or several flowers born at the top of branches, pedicels densely covered with long soft hairs or silky hairs; flower diameter 2.2-3cm; sepals 5, ovate, apex acute to short acuminate, epicalyx segments lanceolate to obovate-lanceolate, apex acuminate to acute, nearly as long as sepals, sparsely covered with silky hairs on the outside; petals 5, broadly obovate, apex obtuse, longer than sepals, yellow; style nearly basal, apex constricted, stigma enlarged.
