When booking travel - do you book online or offline?

Booking travel and vacations online is becoming increasingly popular in the U.S. With the rise of the internet making it easy to order everything from flights to accommodation and activities online, the future of brick-and-mortar travel agencies isn’t looking so bright.

As highlighted by the survey data from Statista Consumer Insights , there are several major advantages to booking online in the eyes of customers. The main one, mentioned by 53% of online travel bookers, is that you can quickly arrange your trip. Secondly, 47% said that it is often easier to compare prices and ultimately find the best deal.

That being said, there are some benefits to choosing an offline travel agent. Among travel agent customers, having a contact person who can answer questions and provide assistance is the third most popular reason. 30% of respondents said that going through a travel agent provides clearer information and ensures that all necessary paperwork and documents are in order.

Despite the clear advantages of using a travel agent, online booking is clearly superior in 2023 , with the vast majority saying they prefer booking travel online.
