[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of Dryopteris golden crown, a plant of the Dryopteris family.

【Original form】 The plant is up to 50cm tall. The rhizome is erect or obliquely ascending, densely covered with bright reddish-brown, lanceolate scales, with a long, twisted subulate tip. Leaves are clustered; petioles are gramineous, covered with two types of scales: ovate-lanceolate and linear-lanceolate; leaf blades are oblong, about 30cm long, 8-12cm wide in the middle, shortly acuminate at the apex, slightly narrowed at the base, and deeply pinnate-lobed twice; lobes are entire or sparsely notched, with blunt teeth on the pinnules or lobe margins; rachis is covered with reddish-brown, lanceolate scales; veins are not obvious above, but prominent below. The sori cap is large, papery or horny, and spiral-shell-like, completely covering the sori when mature.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown under hillside forests at an altitude of 2500-3200m.

[Chemical composition] The rhizome contains white tridentate, mianmaic acid and yellow tridentate acid.
