[Original form] 1. Fragrant Litsea cubeba is a deciduous small tree, 10m tall. Young branches have short soft hairs; terminal buds are conical and covered with yellow-brown soft hairs. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 1.5cm long; leaf blade is ovate-elliptical or oblong, 7-14cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, slightly rounded cuneate at the base, dark green and glabrous above, pink-green below, sparsely pubescent, with slightly dense midrib. Dioecious; umbels axillary, often 4 clusters on short branches, each inflorescence with 4-6 flowers, opening before leaves or at the same time as leaves; 6 perianth lobes, yellow-green or yellow-white, elliptical, about 2mm long; 9 fertile stamens, filaments with gray-yellow soft hairs, 4 anthers, all intromitate. The fruit is spherical, 5-7mm in diameter, with a small tip at the tip, and black when ripe; the fruit stalk is 4mm long, the fruit receptacle does not enlarge, and has sparse short soft hairs. The flowering period is February-March, and the fruiting period is September.
