【Original form】 Evergreen shrub. The stem is curved, with the end touching the ground to take root and grow new seedlings. The stems, branches and petioles are sparsely covered with slightly curved hard thorns and densely covered with reddish-brown hard and coarse hairs. The leaves are leathery, alternate, ovate to round, 7-15 cm long, 6-13 cm wide, heart-shaped at the base, with shallow notches and serrations on the edges, and the lobes are pointed or obtuse at the tip. They are initially pubescent on the upper side, which then fall off, and densely covered with grayish-white pubescence on the lower side. The main and lateral veins are covered with reddish-brown hard coarse hairs and sparse hard thorns. The petiole is 2-6 cm long, and the stipules fall off early. In early summer, there is one solitary flower or several flowers in clusters in the leaf axils, which are white, large in shape, and about 3 cm in diameter. The bracts below the flowers are broadly ovate, with fine hairs on both sides, and the pedicels are short; the calyx is 5-lobed, persistent, with dense reddish-brown hairs on both sides, and the lobes are broadly ovate or elliptical; there are 5 petals, which are broadly elliptical to nearly round, with wavy edges. The aggregate drupe is spherical and red when ripe.
